Classic temporary tattoos usually sit on top of the skin as a transferred image. Some semi-permanent temporary products are designed to develop or stain the surface layers of skin and fade over time. Permanent tattoos are different: they involve tattooing pigment into the skin.

Questions worth asking suppliers

• Is the product a decal, jagua or fruit-stain style product, henna, or another chemistry?
• What is the full ingredient list?
• Can the supplier provide SDS, COA, or cosmetic documentation?
• Does the product contain PPD or anything described as black henna?
